Debra Cavaliere is a School Library Media Specialist at Northport High School in Northport, New York. She holds dual Master’s Degrees in English Literature (Stony Brook University) and Library and Information Science (St. John’s University) as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre (Marymount Manhattan College.) She recently obtained an Advanced Certificate in Educational Computing from Stony Brook University as well. She has delivered over 100 hours of Professional Development within her district and community, as well as last year’s Association of Suffolk County Supervisors for Educational Technologies (ASSET) and NYLA/SSL Conferences. Debra specializes in collaboration and technology integration within the library, and changing the climate and culture of the learning space. She is the advisor for the National Junior Honor Society, where she inspires young people to get involved in their community, as well as co-advisor of the school newspaper. Prior to becoming a School Librarian, Debra had an active career in theatre and directing.
